All Students Are Welcomed in the Student Anthropology Society
The NKU Student Anthropology Society (SAS) provides opportunities for participation in anthropological activities and to promote interest in anthropology. It also educates and is an instrument for student research. NKU Anthropology is a vibrant program with about 100 majors and additional minors, concentrations, and other interested students. Are you interested in archaeology, forensic anthropology, other cultures, travel to exotic lands, or improving the condition of people around the world? These are just a few of the interests that could lead you to join the Student Anthropology Society.
Founded in 1975, the Student Anthropology Society is free and open to any NKU student with an interest in anthropology. Anthropology majors are especially encouraged to join. The club is a past winner of the United Way Outstanding Service Award. Dr. Timothy D. Murphy is the faculty sponsor of SAS, and Amy-Joy Meyer is the SAS president. In addition to the Student Anthropology Society, NKU also has a chapter of Lambda Alpha, the international anthropology honor society. Dr. Barbara Thiel is the faculty sponsor of Lambda Alpha.
