Welcome to the Distinguished and Dapper Death Rho Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. From the Desk of the National President:

I am Darryl R. Matthews, Sr. General President of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. As you know, the most remarkable leadership in African-American community during the twentieth century has, without a doubt, come from the ranks of Alpha Phi Alpha. It has been more than 100 years since our great Fraternity was founded. During a time of steadfast inequality, and social and economic unrest, Alpha Phi Alpha was forged together by seven distinct men who were committed to the principles of fellowship, leadership, scholarship and service. Like the Founders, all of us who later joined this organization have taken a charge to impact our communities by providing unselfish and tireless leadership

Our Centennial Anniversary marks a crossroad in the life of the Fraternity. Now is the time for us to rededicate ourselves to the guiding principles of our Founders. We must re-cast ourselves in this timeless mold, prepared to address the challenges and issues of the present and future. While we pay homage to our past, we must maintain our relevance and importance. We must meet the challenges of our day with the same unbridled ambition, vision and courage as the Jewels did in their era. The Fraternity’s relevance is as certain today as it was when we were founded in 1906.

Alpha Phi Alpha must continue to maximize its potential, be well managed, and be effective and efficient as we deliver on our promise to aid and assist our communities. We must plan strategically to strengthen the capacity of our infrastructure and to provide greater resources and support to our Chapters and Brothers as they carry out our fraternal mandate
